Historical Highlights - 30th Anniversary Year of Recruiting Excellence (1978 - 2008)

1978 Profile Management & Specialist Recruitment was founded by the late Jacques Schneider, former head of training for The Savoy Group of Hotels.
Late '70s Business in the early days was mainly with London Hotels and the emerging Country House sector in the UK
Early '80s Profile's international reputation grew steadily through a close association with many Leading Hotels of the World, international hotel chains including InterContinental, Mandarin Oriental, Shangri-la and Sheraton
Mid '80s Appointment of Mark Norris and Liz Hartstone, Directors of Profile to this day. Our non-executive director, the late Douglas Barrington OBE, was presented with a "lifetime achievement award" by The Caterer and Hotelkeeper
1989 Expansion of the consultant team including the appointment of Rupert Sellers in the Sales & Marketing division; Profile moved from its base in Hampstead to larger offices in Belsize Park
1993 Profile opened its Paris office to focus on France and French speaking countries, which continues to be led by Michèle Alguacil, now MD Profile France
1997 Launch of Profile's Leisure & Spa Division, supported by industry expert Lord Thurso. In the same year, the untimely death of Jacques at the age of 51 with a memorial service attended by over 400 industry professionals from all around the world
1999 Launch of Profile's virtual office in New York to enable improved communication with our clients in the US
2000 www.pmsr.com established as Profile's web domain (Profile Management & Specialist Recruitment)
2001 Strategic alliance agreed with a well established search firm in Sydney, to provide Profile with a gateway in Australia and South East Asia
2002 Management buyout, led by Mark Norris enabled Profile, the specialists in Global Hospitality Recruitment, to remain independently owned. Moved to new offices in Covent Garden, a few minutes walk from Trafalgar Square. Rupert Sellers re-joins Profile having spent the last 11 years directing Sales & Marketing teams for Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons, Como Hotels & Resorts and Ian Schrager Hotels.
2003 Launch of Profile Marketing Appointments, a sister company headed by Rupert Sellers to focus on Sales, Marketing and PR search & recruitment. This is a joint venture between Rupert Sellers and Mark Norris, and is part of the Profile Group. Continued investment in Profile's IT infrastructure, led by James Hey, continues to provide our consultant team with a highly efficient search and selection system, with access to a candidate base of over 20,000 people. James and Rupert appointed board directors.
2004 At the annual meeting of Preferred, Summit & Sterling Hotels, Profile launches their "Associates and Business Partners" alliance to provide a range of support services including Training, Coaching and Human Resources Management, Measurement and Quality Evaluation, Sales Evaluation and Development, Travel Content Delivery, Valuation Services, Strategic Marketing advice, Web creation and Graphic Design and a partnership for entry level in front office.
2005 Team expands with 2 new members of staff, coinciding with increase in business confidence and added services including Psychometric testing. Profile's annual Conference takes place in Dubai. Staying at The Fairmont, Dubai for 3 nights in May, the team visited a number of our client hotels including all the Jumeirah hotels, Grand Hyatt and One&Only's Royal Mirage
2006 Profile continues to expand globally. Winnie Chiu is appointed as Area Representative for China and South East Asia and opens our Profile Shanghai office. Winnie has previously worked in a senior capacity in Asia, Canada and the UK for Peninsula, Four Seasons and Mandarin Oriental.
2007 Profile Marketing Appointments launches New York office with the appointment of Patrick Leblanc who has a wealth of experience in luxury hospitality and formerly worked for anorther Search firm in New York. A party was held in October to introduce Patrick to 80 hotel sales & marketing professionals at Soho House New York. On achieving a record year in Sales & Marketing placements, Daniel Reid joins the PMA team as Consultant to meet the growing demands of the business.
2008 Profile Shanghai Office adds 3 new members to the team headed up by Winnie Chiu to handle the considerable demand for hospitality recruitment in this region. In April Lucy Flack, who joined PMA 3 years ago, is appointed Senior Consultant.
